César Manrique's House
César Manrique's House is situated in Taro de Tahiche and is probably the work that best represents Manrique's artistic and personal ideals. It was built in 1968 on top of a volcanic trail from a volcanic eruption that occurred in 1730-36. It uses the natural formation of five volcanic bubbles for the main rooms within the house. The outside of the house and upper level is an inspired by the traditional architecture of Lanzarote. It's now home to The Cesar Manrique Foundation and promotes the work and ideas of Lanzarote's most famous designer.
